Services includes :

  • Kidney Stones
The kidneys filter waste from the blood. Urine contains waste products and many dissolved minerals and salts. If there is not enough fluid to create urine, the minerals and salts clump together to form kidney stones or renal calculi. Treatment depends on the size of the stone and whether it is causing an obstruction.
  • Kidney Cancer
Kidney cancer is a disease where healthy cells in one or both kidneys grow and form a lump or a tumour. The most common form of kidney cancer is renal cell carcinoma, which begins on the lining of small tubes in the kidney known as renal tubes. Renal cancer is situated in the kidney but may spread to other parts of the body, such as the bones, lungs, or brain. Dr Mashava will be able to treat cancer depending on the stage and diagnosis. Treatment may include surgeries such as a radical or partial nephrectomy.
  • Infections
Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are caused by bacteria that overcome the body's defences in the urinary tract that may affect the kidneys, bladder, and tubes that run between them. The upper urinary tract and the lower urinary tract are the two sections that make up the urinary tract. The upper urinary tract consists of the kidneys and ureter, while the lower urinary tract consists of the bladder and urethra. UTIs are treated with antibiotic medication according to the severity. In more serious cases antibiotic therapy can be administered intravenously (IV) in hospital.
  • Overactive Bladder
Overactive bladder (OAB) is a group of urinary symptoms of which the most common symptom is an uncontrolled urge to urinate that may result in urine leakage. Frequent night and day urination is another symptom. Treatments to manage overactive bladder include bladder reconstruction or urinary diversion surgery and nerve stimulation or neuromodulation therapy.
  • Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a condition where the prostate gland grows larger and can block or slow the urine passage from the urethra, making the urine passage weak. The prostate is a small and muscular gland in the male reproductive system surrounding the urethra and is responsible for producing most fluid in the semen. The prostate's muscular action aids the fluid and semen to be pushed through the penis during sexual climax. BPH can be treated with surgical procedures that include transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP), transurethral electrovaporisation, and the greenlight laser.
  • Prostate Cancer
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in males, which is treatable in the early stages. It develops when cells in the prostate become abnormal and continue to live even when other cells die. The growing abnormal cells form a tumour that may grow and invade nearby tissue. Prostate cancer begins in the prostate gland situated between the penis and the bladder in a man's pelvis. Tumours in the prostate may be benign or malignant. Prostate cancer treatment includes prostatectomy, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy.
  • Erectile Dysfunction
Erectile dysfunction (ED) occurs when a man cannot get or keep an erection firm enough to perform sexual intercourse. It usually occurs when men are stressed, but it may be a sign of health problems that require attention and treatment. ED can result from emotional or relationship difficulties that may need to be addressed by a professional. Erectile dysfunction can be treated with penis prostheses or penile implant and penis pumps.
  • Undescended Testis
An undescended testicle or cryptorchidism is when a testicle has not moved to its proper position in the bag of skin under the penis called the scrotum. This happens before birth, and in some cases, both the testicles become undescended. Dr Mashava may recommend a surgical treatment called an orchiopexy to reposition the testicle or testicles in the scrotum.
  • Urinary Incontinence
Urinary incontinence is the involuntary leakage of urine due to a weakened urinary sphincter. It is often an embarrassing problem when the urge to urinate occurs when one coughs or sneezes. Urinary incontinence is not necessarily a consequence of ageing, and it may affect anyone. It is a condition that may be chronic or temporary, depending on the cause. Treatment depends on the severity but may include surgical treatments such as sling procedures, colposuspension, and artificial sphincter.
  • Infertility
Infertility happens when a couple tries and fails to conceive after having regular unprotected sex. This may result from an inability to carry a pregnancy to full term or a partner not contributing to conception. Infertility is usually the inability to conceive after 12 months of regular sexual intercourse without any birth control. Infertility in men may sign testicular infection, cancer, undescended testicles, ejaculation disorder, hormonal imbalance, and genetic factors inherited. Treatment of male infertility can include varicocele treatments and azoospermia treatments.
