  • Braces
Braces are oral appliances that are used to fix misaligned and crooked teeth. There's a misconception that braces are only meant for children, but adults require them as well. Braces straighten teeth and correct malocclusion (bad bite). Metal, ceramic and Invisalign are different types of braces. Metal braces are made from high-quality steel and are smaller and more attractive than most out-dated braces today. Metal braces have brackets that stick to the front part of the teeth. Sometimes, instead of brackets, traditional braces have metal bands that wrap around teeth. Ceramic braces are either translucent or resemble natural teeth and are ideal for people who want to conceal the fact that they wear braces. Invisalign are transparent and removable aligners. Over time, Invisalign shifts teeth back in its position. Clear bands are a more desirable option for adults as it’s not as cumbersome as traditional braces. Children, however, have the option of choosing brightly-coloured bands.
  • Adult orthodontics
It’s never too late to receive orthodontic treatment. Today’s teeth are more resilient than they were in the past. People are now taking better care of their teeth as a result of the latest orthodontic devices on the market. People over twenty still wear braces. Braces are now popular dental appliances that are used to improve the appearance of one’s smile. Adults have the option of selecting ceramic, Invisalign, lingual and self-ligating braces. Patients must schedule orthodontic appointments every six weeks to maintain good oral health and check the status of their teeth, especially after realignment. Even after the orthodontist removes the braces, patients still need to schedule regular visits, eat healthily and maintain acceptable oral hygiene standards.
