Services includes :
- Anti-wrinkle injections
Botulinum or what's commonly known as "Botox" is a protein that promotes facial paralysis. Botox minimises the appearance of wrinkles and crow's feet. Injectable neurotoxin softens vertical frown and forehead lines. Botox also smooths the corners of the mouth, smoker's lines and vertical neck cords. Neurotoxins affect the muscles beneath the skin. When facial muscles contract, the top part of the skin folds and forms a wrinkle. Botox relaxes these muscles and prevents the skin from folding. The medical specialist uses intensive treatments to decrease the depth of deep wrinkles. Patients usually go under the needle after every twenty-four months. Botox treatments last for four months, sometimes six if the patient is lucky. - Dermal fillers
Dermal fillers, also called a "liquid facial", are gels that contain hyaluronic acid. Dr Burt administers fillers for a 100% natural effect. The doctor is careful not to use too much filler and only uses hyaluronic acid that's a humectant, which means it soaks up water. Fillers are commonly used to plump lips but are also used to inflate sunken scars, cheeks and hands. The plump effect occurs when the gels naturally trap water, swell and weave into the tissues. The doctor applies a topical anaesthetic to minimise the pain felt under the needle. Lip fillers are slightly more painful as the lips have plenty of nerve endings. Quick fillers can be done during lunchtime. - Skin threads/threading
Skin threading is a cosmetic procedure whereby the medical specialist uses sutures to lift and rejuvenate the face. Skin threads correct skin laxity issues like jowls and sagging cheeks. Skin threading is a non-invasive procedure that's performed to lift loose skin through the use of sutures. Facial skin is smoothed, tightened and lifted. A thread lift is performed under local anaesthetic and, when compared to a facelift, involves a faster recovery and minimal post-operative care. - Peels
Chemical peels improve skin texture. A well-formulated solution is applied over the skin to remove dead tissue. The process reveals a smooth new layer of skin. The nature of the peel depends on the extent of damage done to the skin. Deep peels are needed to infiltrate deep layers of skin. Chemical peels are not only applied to the face but can also be used on the neck and hands. Peels are also used to treat wrinkles, crow's feet, scars, acne, age spots and melasma (dark patches). Deep wrinkles, however, don't respond well to chemical peels. Natural peels are used to hydrate the skin. Patients who visit the doctor's centre will receive expert advice on natural and chemical peels. - Micro-needling/derma pen
Micro-needling is a highly recommended cosmetic procedure. Micro-needling is a skin-induced trauma technique that activates collagen. Collagen tightens skin and renews dead skin cells. The medical specialist uses a derma pen to prick the skin. A derma pen improves skin hydration, tone and texture. Micro-needling reduces signs of ageing and treats pigmentation and acne. The treatment lasts thirty minutes and consists of three to four intensive sessions. Touch-ups are required every second or fourth month. There are many micro-needling devices on the market that people should be wary of. These devices are advertised as derma pens or rollers but fail to puncture the skin and don't move at the right speed. The Longevity Centre uses a Gold standard derma pen that accommodates a variety of needles. - Laser Genesis, including laser hair removal
Lasers are used for both cosmetic and general surgery. Laser genesis is an advanced medical technology that's used to treat hyperpigmentation, scarring, inflammation, acne and poor skin texture. Lasers are also an effective hair removal treatment. A laser can be combined with peels or injectable fluid to treat skin conditions. Laser treatments generally last forty-five minutes. The patient's skin may be pink for at least an hour after laser therapy. The procedure is painless and highly effective. Results are noticeable as soon as laser therapy is complete. There's no downtime after the session. - IV infusions/vitamin drips
Vitamin infusions are used to treat mineral deficiencies. A vitamin infusion is an outpatient procedure that takes approximately twenty minutes to an hour. The Longevity Centre mixes fresh ingredients that are specially compounded to suit the patient's needs. An oral supplement is broken down in the digestive tract and only partially absorbed. Vitamins that are transferred through a drip are absorbed in a much higher concentration. IV infusions/vitamin drips are conducted to treat chronic fatigue syndrome, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), low libido, stress, jet lag, sports injuries and tired skin. - Hyperpigmentation
Hyperpigmentation is a condition where dark patches form on the skin. These patches occur as a result of excess melanin that accumulates in clumps within the skin. Melanocytes are skin cells that produce melanin. Melanin gives skin its colour. Most of the time, melanocytes remain relaxed and become overactive when the skin is exposed to the sun. Excessive sun exposure and tanning lead to hyperpigmentation. Liver spots or what's typically called "age spots" is an example of hyperpigmentation. Age spots and freckles become more pronounced when in contact with the sun. High-grade laser treatment like laser genesis removes the pigment with minimal scarring.
